Welcome graphic

Some families know a great deal about their roots; others know very little. The Mygatt family is fortunate in that Frederick Mygatt did a tremendous amount of research on the family, which he published in "A Historical Notice of Joseph Mygatt" in 1853. This site is an attempt to record what has happened to the family since then.

One of the purposes of this page is to make that book available to anyone who is interested in the roots of one of America's oldest families. Most of this information was obtained from researching public records and input from Mygatt family members.

This is a working page, so please contact me if you have any information that might help round out the picture.

There is a new Mygatt book (copyright 2008) by Sam Mygatt available for download.  Find it by clicking on the Eleven Generations of Mygatts in Connecticut on the left.
